Our client, a well-established international freight forwarding company, is currently seeking an experienced Sea Freight Import Operator to join their growing team in Hamburg. Role Overview:
The Sea Freight Import Operator will be responsible for handling the full cycle of sea freight import shipments, from receipt of booking through to final delivery. The role requires excellent coordination skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with shipping lines, customers, customs authorities, and internal departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and coordinating full-container-load (FCL) and less-than-container-load (LCL) import shipments
- Handling all import documentation and customs clearance processes
- Liaising with shipping lines, customs agents, and hauliers
- Providing accurate and timely updates to clients regarding shipment status
- Resolving issues or delays and ensuring smooth delivery of goods
- Maintaining accurate data in the TMS and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations
- Collaborating with internal departments to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction
Candidate Profile:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in sea freight import operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Strong understanding of customs procedures and documentation in Germany
- Proficient in MS Office and experienced with freight forwarding software (e.g. CargoWise, Scope, or similar)
- Excellent communication skills in German and good working knowledge of English
- A proactive, team-oriented attitude with strong problem-solving abilities
