Position Overview:
As an Air Import Operator, you'll be the key liaison between overseas offices, U.S. Customs, and clients, ensuring that every shipment is delivered with precision and care. You’ll manage the full life cycle of air import operations, with a special focus on goods requiring attention to branding, handling, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Handle end-to-end coordination of air import shipments, from pre-alerts to final delivery

Liaise daily with European agents, airlines, customs brokers, and clients

Prepare and verify import documentation (AWBs, commercial invoices, packing lists, FDA paperwork, etc.)

File customs entries via ACE and ensure compliance with CBP, FDA, and TTB regulations (as needed)

Monitor and track high-value and time-sensitive shipments including perishables and regulated goods

Resolve exceptions and delays with a client-first mindset

Prepare billing and ensure accurate job costing

Maintain product and brand integrity during handling and storage coordination
Requirements:

2+ years’ experience in air import operations within international freight forwarding
-
Working knowledge of U.S. customs clearance procedures and compliance

Familiarity with FDA, USDA, and TTB requirements (especially for food and alcohol)

Experience handling fashion/luxury goods, cosmetics, or wine & spirits preferred

Proficient in industry systems such as CargoWise, Descartes, or similar
-
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication skills

Ability to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
