Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the customs clearance process for air and ocean imports.
- Lead, train, and support a team of Customs Entry Writers and Specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
- Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulations, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and documentation.
- Serve as the subject matter expert on HTS codes, PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.), and OGA regulations.
- Work closely with clients to ensure seamless communication and outstanding service throughout the clearance process.
- Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and compliance.
- Communicate with government agencies, carriers, and brokers to resolve any clearance issues or holds.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in trade regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
- Active U.S. Customs Broker License required.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
- Extensive knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, and PGA compliance.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
- Proficiency in customs software platforms (e.g., Descartes, ACE, CargoWise).
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
- Strong communication and client-facing skills.
