Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Oversee and manage the customs clearance process for air and ocean imports.
  • Lead, train, and support a team of Customs Entry Writers and Specialists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
  • Maintain compliance with U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) regulations, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and documentation.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert on HTS codes, PGA requirements (FDA, USDA, etc.), and OGA regulations.
  • Work closely with clients to ensure seamless communication and outstanding service throughout the clearance process.
  • Identify and implement process improvements for greater efficiency and compliance.
  • Communicate with government agencies, carriers, and brokers to resolve any clearance issues or holds.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in trade regulations and industry best practices.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in customs brokerage, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead capacity.
  • Extensive knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, and PGA compliance.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor, motivate, and develop team members.
  • Proficiency in customs software platforms (e.g., Descartes, ACE, CargoWise).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
