As they continue to expand, they are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Entry Writer to join their dynamic team.

Job Summary:
The Customs Entry Writer is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely submission of customs documentation for imported goods. This role involves classifying goods, preparing entries, and liaising with customs authorities and clients to ensure compliance with import regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of U.S. Customs regulations, HTS classification, and experience within the freight forwarding or customs brokerage industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and process import documentation, including Customs Entry (7501) and ISF filings.

  • Classify commodities using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine applicable duties and taxes.

  • Ensure compliance with CBP (Customs and Border Protection) and other government agency regulations.

  • Communicate with clients, customs officials, and carriers to facilitate clearance.

  • Monitor shipments to ensure timely release and resolve any customs-related issues.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of import regulations, trade agreements, and duty reductions.

  • Assist in post-entry amendments, protests, and other compliance-related matters.

  • Utilize customs brokerage software to process entries efficiently.

  • Keep accurate records of all customs documentation and transactions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in customs brokerage or freight forwarding.

  • Strong knowledge of U.S. import regulations, HTS classification, and compliance procedures.

  • Proficiency in customs brokerage software (e.g., Descartes, CargoWise, or similar).

  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple entries simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • A U.S. Customs Broker License (preferred but not required).
