About the Role

 

As Head of Sales, you will lead efforts to secure new business for air and ocean freight services while managing and mentoring a dynamic sales team. Your expertise will drive success in key trade lanes, including Europe, South America, Asia, and the Middle East. This role is ideal for an experienced leader or a top-performing sales professional ready to step into a leadership position.

 

Flexible Location: This position can be based in major logistics hubs such as Houston, Miami, or Chicago, with travel up to 30%.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive revenue growth across the USA.
  • Revenue Growth: Expand market share by securing new clients for air and ocean freight services.
  • Team Building: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team to meet and exceed targets.
  • Trade Lane Development: Identify and capitalize on opportunities across key trade lanes, ensuring alignment with company goals.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain long-term partnerships, ensuring client satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Data-Driven Insights: Analyze performance metrics, provide forecasts, and deliver actionable recommendations to senior leadership.

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Proven Sales Experience: A successful track record in freight forwarding sales, specializing in air and ocean freight services.
  • Market Expertise: In-depth knowledge of the U.S. freight forwarding market and key trade lanes.
  • Leadership or High Performance: Experience leading sales teams or a history of exceeding individual sales targets with readiness for leadership.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with industries such as healthcare, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, oil and gas, automotive, and retail.
  • Analytical and Strategic Mindset: Proficiency in analyzing sales performance and making data-driven decisions.
  • Exceptional Communication Skills: Ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.

 

Preferred but Not Required:

 

  • Experience in specific verticals like healthcare or aerospace.
