We are recruiting on behalf of a leading player in the freight forwarding industry, renowned for its innovation and efficiency. The company specializes in providing comprehensive air and ocean freight solutions to clients across the globe. As they continue to expand their footprint, they are seeking a driven and strategic Director of Global Sales to lead their growth initiatives across Texas.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans aimed at driving growth in the company’s air and ocean freight services across the Texas region. This involves understanding market dynamics, setting clear objectives, and positioning the company as a leader in the market.
  • Pursue new business opportunities by leveraging an extensive network within the freight forwarding sector. Focus on penetrating high-growth industries and emerging markets to contribute to the company’s expansion goals.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction and long-term loyalty. Your ability to understand client needs and provide tailored solutions will be crucial in securing and retaining high-value contracts.
  • Lead efforts to meet and exceed revenue targets by negotiating and closing high-value contracts, managing the sales pipeline, and ensuring consistent contribution to the company’s financial performance.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams—including operations, pricing, and customer service—to ensure that sales efforts are aligned with the company’s operational capabilities. Your leadership will be key to delivering seamless service to clients.
  • Oversee the development and execution of marketing strategies and promotional activities to enhance the company’s visibility and brand presence in the Texas region. This includes coordinating with marketing teams to create compelling content and campaigns.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform your sales strategies and adjust approaches as necessary. Provide insights to guide the company’s strategic direction and maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on sales performance, market conditions, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership. Communicate insights and recommendations effectively to support informed decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Mentor and develop a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. This includes recruiting, training, and providing ongoing support to ensure your team’s success and professional growth.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in freight forwarding or a related logistics industry, with a strong focus on global sales and business development.
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and expanding market share within the air and ocean freight sectors.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with high-profile clients and key industry stakeholders.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring sales teams.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a keen understanding of market dynamics and competitive landscape.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade at all organizational levels.
  • Willingness to travel as required to meet with clients, attend industry events, and oversee operations in different locations.
