Altius Talent is partnering with a mid-sized global freight forwarder in their search for an Airfreight Import Operator to join their team in Frankfurt. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a tight-knit operations team within a well-established company.
The Role:
As an Airfreight Import Operator, you will be responsible for handling the end-to-end import process for airfreight shipments. While the primary focus will be on air imports, you will also have some involvement in ocean freight imports, mainly in terms of customer and ocean carrier communication.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the full cycle of airfreight import operations
- Handle documentation, customs clearance, and coordination with airlines and trucking partners
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and ocean carriers for occasional ocean freight imports
- Work closely with the import and export teams (8-person team: 4 in imports, 4 in exports)
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and company procedures
- Deliver exceptional customer service and resolve any shipment-related queries
Requirements:
- Experience in airfreight import operations within a freight forwarding environment
- Knowledge of ocean freight import processes is a plus
- Fluent in German and English (spoken and written)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
