Job Description: Business Development Manager
Location: North Rhine-Westphalia
Salary: €80,000 + Car Allowance €6,600 + Bonus


Key Purpose:
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to develop and implement strategies that drive growth in supply chain solutions. This role focuses on identifying opportunities, managing client relationships, and delivering comprehensive supply chain services to exceed sales and profitability targets. The ideal candidate will foster strong relationships with key clients, manage proposal processes, and create innovative supply chain solutions aligned with client needs and market trends.

Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the supply chain sector.
  • Analyze client needs and design customized supply chain solutions, collaborating with finance, operations, and logistics teams.
  • Conduct in-depth market research to support strategic decision-making and identify emerging trends.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking opportunities to expand market presence.
Client and Relationship Management:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring client satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships.
  • Develop tailored proposals that clearly articulate the company’s supply chain capabilities and value proposition.
Sales and Strategic Implementation:
  • Implement prospecting strategies to build and maintain a robust sales pipeline.
  • Develop customer-centric supply chain solutions and incentive programs to enhance sales and profitability.
  • Utilize CRM systems to track opportunities and ensure accurate pipeline reporting.
Proposal and Tender Management:
  • Lead the development of high-quality proposals, tenders, and presentations that address client requirements.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate tender submissions.
  • Maintain a library of proposal templates and case studies for future use.

Key Relationships:
  • Internal: Commercial Team, Operations, Logistics, Account Management, and Senior Leadership Teams
  • External: Prospective Clients, Industry Partners, Networking Organizations

Requirements
  • Proactive and strategic thinker with strong networking skills
  • Results-driven with a high level of self-motivation
  • Commercially focused with a client-first approach
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and adaptable to evolving market demands
  • Proven experience in supply chain business development or logistics sales
  • Strong understanding of supply chain processes, including warehousing, transportation, and inventory management
  • Excellent negotiation, presentation, and communication skills
  • Effective time management and problem-solving abilities
  • Fluent in German & English
  • Solid knowledge of supply chain trends, challenges, and solutions
  • Familiarity with CRM systems and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Package:
  • Base Salary: €80,000 + bonus
  • Car Allowance: €6,600
  • Holidays: 28 days + public holidays
  • Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
