Altius Talent is partnering with a leading USA Freight Forwarding company to find an experienced and highly strategic Director of Sales. This senior-level role is ideal for a seasoned sales professional who is eager to take ownership of driving revenue growth across the organization. As the Director of Sales, you will be responsible for developing and executing cutting-edge sales strategies that align with the company’s ambitious growth goals. You will lead a dedicated sales team while personally contributing to key client acquisition, relationship-building, and revenue-driving efforts in the USA market.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the sales strategy for the company’s operations across the USA, focusing on air and ocean freight services.
  • Take full ownership of new business development, identifying high-value opportunities and securing new logos while nurturing existing client relationships to ensure long-term retention.
  • Collaborate closely with the leadership team to shape the company's overall direction, contributing to key decisions and initiatives that drive profitability and growth.
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing sales team, setting ambitious goals and providing guidance to ensure they exceed targets.
  • Negotiate and close deals with high-profile clients, leveraging your industry knowledge and relationships to deliver tailored, competitive solutions.
  • Utilize tools like Salesforce, CRM systems, and data analytics to track leads, manage opportunities, and optimize sales strategies.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the logistics and freight forwarding ecosystem, including steamship linesairlines, and other critical partners.
  • Drive innovation within the sales process, implementing best practices and refining methodologies to maximize efficiency and success.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • 7+ years of experience in USA Freight Forwarding, with a strong background in air and ocean freight sales, business development, and relationship management.
  • Proven track record in new business acquisition and closing high-value deals.
  • Significant leadership experience managing sales teams, setting strategic direction, and driving performance.
  • Expertise in negotiating complex logistics contracts, rates, and terms with steamship lines and airlines.
  • Strong command of Salesforce or similar CRM tools to effectively manage sales pipelines and customer data.
  • Highly motivated, strategic, and results-oriented, with a passion for delivering measurable outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
